Clear Braces

Create a beautiful and healthy smile for a lifetime

For Older Teens and Adults
In the past, metal braces were very noticeable and could be annoying to those who wore them because of their size and intrusiveness. Today’s Clear (Ceramic) Braces are far smaller and less noticeable. New technology has also created wires that move teeth faster and with less pain.  Dr. Hayes has years of experience giving patients appropriate orthodontic treatment, including traditional, metal braces, to maximize your smile and improve your dental health.

Treatment Options

The most commonly known orthodontic treatment is braces: an orthodontic appliance used to straighten teeth and correct bad bites. Braces can be prescribed for teens, adults, and children who have permanent teeth. They may be used in conjunction with other orthodontic appliances prescribed to widen the palate or jaws or to shape the teeth and jaws. Treatment time and type varies by the individual patient.

Dr. Hayes often recommends ceramic braces, which are made of clear materials and are therefore less visible on your teeth than metal braces. For this reason, ceramic braces are used mainly on older teenagers and adult patients who have cosmetic concerns. While they are visually less prominent, they do require more attention to oral hygiene, as ceramic braces are larger and more brittle than their metal counterparts. For these reasons, ceramic braces tend to be used more on upper front teeth rather than on lower teeth.

Besides traditional metal braces, Dr. Hayes may also suggest clear ceramic braces or Six Month Smiles.

Traditional braces are the most common treatment and offer many benefits including:
Traditional braces tend to be much more affordable
Traditional braces produce better results for patients who want to straighten significantly crooked teeth, or patients who have teeth that are sitting at noticeably different heights
Traditional braces are also better at fixing overcrowded teeth
